TRULY HOLY

DECEMBER 8, 2011

Just in case anyone asks you, there is no "holy city of Medina" (or Rome for that matter). I mention this because a news article this week told that an Australian man has been sentenced in the "holy" city of Medina, Saudi Arabia, to receive 500 lashes and a year in prison because he supposedly blasphemed Islams prophet. This is not unusual, since Saudi Arabia is consistently one of the greatest offenders against religious freedom and human rights in the world over the past several years. Sadly, Barack Hussein Obama has referred to the religious writings of Islam as the "holy" Koran, though the only holy book in the entire world is the Holy Bible, since it reveals the only, true and living God.

Religions can call something holy (like cities, books or leaders) but only the presence of the God of the Bible actually makes something holy. I wonder, though, if sometime in the future, Islam stops killing Christians (which is not likely), will all of Saudi Arabia's oppression and persecution of Christians and Jews be forgotten, just as society has forgotten the monstrous atrocities of the Roman religion against Bible believing Christians in the past. By the way, I don't know that Rome ever apologized for their crimes against Christians.

One other observation. I am appalled by the the way the word, "holy" is used in conjunction with crude and filthy talk. It is not unusual to hear people, even children, use the word, "Holy" with words that refer to human waste. How sick is a society when it calls human filth by the word associated with the purity of God.

Proverbs 17:15
(15)  He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.
2 Peter 2:1-2
(1)  But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
(2)  And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
Isaiah 5:20
(20)  Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Launch Out and Hold Fast,
