THANK YOU FOR BEING KIND
Sometimes I make errors in my online postings. I appreciate those who don't get all bent out of shape when this happens and I addressed the subject on my FaceBook page. That is not really the purpose of this article today. Actually, it was the verses that I attached to my post that I wanted to share with you, since the truths are applicable in so many different situations. First I will give you the FB post and then I will give you the verses.
FB POST
I want to thank my friends for looking beyond the mistakes and typos in my posts and seeing the meaning and message of my posts. Though your kindness seems to be a small thing, it is an indicator of a greater truth. Here are some verses that are well worth our meditation. I hope you enjoy.
(I added) I noticed something about the verses in my comment. Each verse can be read alone and still have great influence. In context they are more powerful, but if a person only read and applied one verse per day or even per week, that person's life would be lifted to a higher level. Remember, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." These verses can ignite and stir faith, they can transform and direct our thinking, our lives, our relationships. If these verses take possession of our hearts, we will be controlled, guided, empowered by the love of God.
(see comment below).
VERSES...
Romans 12:10
(10) Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Ephesians 4:31-32
(31) Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
(32) And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Philippians 2:2-5
(2) Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
(3) Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
(4) Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
(5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Colossians 3:12-17
(12) Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
(13) Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
(14) And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
(15) And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
(16) Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
(17) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
1 Peter 3:8-12
(8) Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
(9) Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
(10) For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
(11) Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
(12) For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.
2 Peter 1:5-11
(5) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
(6) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
(7) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
(8) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
(9) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
(10) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
(11) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
